WORK WITH BIO HEALTH EDUCATION
Build your Soft Tissue OT skills
Our soft tissue training sits within one framework: The Soft Tissue OT Pathway, Core Skills to Clinical Success. Four simple steps take you from foundational knowledge to genuine hands-on confidence, with ongoing support along the way.
ONE PATHWAY, TWO STAGES
Build the skills. Then keep building.
The STOT Pathway has four simple steps: Prepare, Practise and Build make up Soft Tissue OT Foundations, taking you from theory to hands-on competence. Grow continues with The STOT Collective, a professional community that supports you long after the workshop ends.
STAGE ONE
Soft Tissue OT Foundations
Building Core Skills for Clinical Confidence
This is where the pathway begins: online preparation, a three-day hands-on intensive, and a clinical library to keep building your knowledge.
Who it's for: AHPRA-registered OTs, and 3rd and 4th year OT students. Proof of registration or current enrolment is required when you sign up, along with a short health declaration.
STEP 1 · PREPARE
Online, self-paced
As soon as you enrol, you'll get access to a complete prep set, built to get you workshop-ready:
- Foundations module: what STOT is, the holistic approach, pain, inflammation, the spine and nervous system, and the musculoskeletal system
- Ready for Hands-On module: get comfortable with palpation before you arrive, with a self-palpation checklist, guided self-palpation audio and a readiness quiz
- Day 1, 2 and 3 prep packs: the bones, joints, ligaments and muscles for each workshop day, with a quiz pack for each day
Work through these before the workshop. You don't need to know it all by heart; the aim is to arrive with awareness, so the workshop days can focus on your hands.
STEP 2 · PRACTISE
3-day hands-on intensive · 9am-5pm daily
Where theory becomes skill. In a small group of no more than 12, you'll learn Wearne Depth-Directed Release (WDDR™) region by region, with surface anatomy and "getting your eye in", hands-on technique, treatment locations and practitioner ergonomics.
- Day 1: lumbar spine, hip and pelvis, knee, ankle and foot
- Day 2: thoracic spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand
- Day 3: neck and an introduction to the jaw, then review, repeat and put it all together
Mock cases and clinical reasoning run throughout, so you leave able to build whole-person treatment plans, not just perform isolated techniques. Clients are treated fully clothed, just as they are in clinic.
After the workshop: online follow-up A one-hour session with your group, once you've had a chance to put your new skills into practice, to review, ask questions and consolidate what you've learned.
Perth workshop: 27, 28 & 29 November 2026
Bio Health Therapies Clinic, 86 Valcan Rd, Orange Grove, Perth.
STEP 3 · BUILD
12-month clinical library
After the workshop, the full STOT clinical library opens for 12 months: nerves, blood vessels and lymphatics for every region, clinical assessment, and common clinical conditions, with quizzes, clinical checksheets and case studies, plus treatment flow charts, treatment videos and practitioner ergonomics. This content lands best once you're working with real people, so it's there as you start seeing your own clients.
On completion, you'll receive a Certificate of Completion.
STAGE TWO
The STOT Collective
Your Community for Growth and Clinical Success
STEP 4 · GROW
Completed Soft Tissue OT Foundations? The STOT Collective is where you keep growing, because building this skill set doesn't stop at the workshop door. Foundations gives you the hands-on skills. The Collective helps you fine-tune them as you work with real clients, and builds the wider clinical picture around them.

Opening January 2027. $297 AUD/month or $1,600 AUD for six months prepaid (save $182).
- Two live online sessions a month: a one-hour Q&A built around questions you submit beforehand, and a one-hour group coaching session that may include case study review, a walk-through of library content or business support
- Mentorship from Nicola: regular input as your skills and caseload grow
- Beyond the hands-on: sleep, recovery support, client education and home programs
- Learning extension: support to work through and apply the library content, and the clinical process from first assessment through to maintenance
