Nicola Wearne — Occupational Therapist

01  ·  Occupational Therapist

Nicola Wearne

MOT · Master of Occupational Therapy · Bioregulatory Medicine

A registered OT with a Master's from Curtin University, focussed on Soft Tissue Therapy since 2006, and developer of post-graduate training for OTs in Perth.

Nicola holds post-graduate qualifications in Soft Tissue Medicine and has focussed on Soft Tissue Occupational Therapy across her entire career. Her extensive clinical experience led her to develop and deliver post-graduate training for OTs, which now sits under Bio Health Education.

In 2010 she continued her education into Biopuncture and Biomesotherapy, and now combines Bioregulatory Medicine with soft tissue functional therapy for a holistic approach to both acute treatment and long-term health outcomes.

A former high-level gymnast training at the WA Institute of Sport and a national-level dressage rider and competitor, Nicola brings a particular interest in performance and elite sportspeople and dancers, alongside her broader work in painful conditions and musculoskeletal, acute, chronic, and functional issues.

Her approach is to always look at the causes of dysfunction, not just the symptoms, using both physical and bioregulatory approaches to get the very best results for her clients.

Dr Hannie Byrne — Acupuncturist & Reg. Nurse

02  ·  Acupuncturist & Registered Nurse

Dr Hannie Byrne

BHSc · Registered Acupuncturist · RN · Bioregulatory Medicine

A career built at the intersection of conventional and natural medicine. Twenty-plus years across nursing, intensive care, and Acupuncture.

Hannie began her career as a Registered Nurse, gaining specialist post-graduate skills in paediatrics at PMH in Perth and London. She then spent many years in the intensive care department at Royal Perth Hospital, during which time she developed a keen interest in natural health.

She pursued that interest with post-graduate qualifications in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Bioregulatory Medicine, and Biomesotherapy. Because of her medical training, Hannie takes an evidence-based approach to health and believes natural medicine can and must coexist with conventional medicine.

She encourages patients to be proactive and involved in their own health care, and has a particular interest in women's and children's health and metabolic disorders that create symptoms like fatigue, insomnia, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, gastrointestinal disorders, hormonal issues, and fertility challenges.

Hannie enjoys challenging and difficult-to-treat cases. Her knowledge and experience across both conventional and natural medicine anchors the high standards of care and patient education at Bio Health Therapies.
